Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for sports early, and discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first trial she took, she was ranked second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004 she was enrolled at an institution called the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. She defended the title by beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in every event.
